Jerry Hauburger founded MD HQL Training in 2021 after 10 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, where he was an Infantry Officer. That background shaped how he teaches today: disciplined, methodical, and focused on making sure every student actually understands the material — not just passes a test.

Jerry is an NRA-certified pistol instructor and a Maryland State Police-qualified instructor, and over the past 14+ years he's trained+2000 Maryland residents through the Handgun Qualification License process, Wear and Carry Permit courses, and multi-state CCW training. He's based in Bowie, MD, and works with students across Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County, and statewide.

Beyond the certifications, Jerry built MD HQL Training around a simple idea: firearm ownership comes with real responsibility, and good training should leave you more confident, not just more qualified.
